Game Objective
- For the Shark: Eliminate all participants by winking without revealing your identity.
- For the Participants: Identify who the shark is before everyone is eliminated.
Setup and Start
- Eyes Closed: All players gather in an area and close their eyes.
- Selecting the Shark: The game moderator silently walks among the participants and taps one person on the shoulder. The tapped person becomes the "Shark" for that round.
- Game Begins: At the moderator's command, everyone opens their eyes and starts walking freely around the area.
Gameplay
- Eye Contact: Players must look into each other's eyes as they walk around.
- Secret Hunting: The shark winks at people they make eye contact with, without others noticing.
- Elimination Process: A person who gets winked at is "hit." However, they don't get eliminated immediately; they wait 5 seconds before making a "death sound" and leaving the game. This waiting period prevents the shark from being immediately exposed.
Guessing and Elimination Rules
- Making an Accusation: If a player figures out who the shark is before being winked at, they say "I found the shark!" and tell the moderator the name.
- If the Guess is Correct: The shark loses and the game ends.
- If the Guess is Wrong: The person who made the false accusation is eliminated from the game, and the game continues.
End of Game
- Shark Wins: If everyone is eliminated without anyone identifying the shark, the Shark declares victory.
- Participants Win: If the shark is correctly guessed before eliminating the entire group, the participants win.
Example Gameplay
The Setup: Seven players are in the game. The moderator secretly selects Emma as the shark.
- Round Starts: Everyone opens their eyes and starts walking around, making eye contact with each other.
- First Elimination: Emma makes eye contact with David and winks subtly. David waits 5 seconds, then makes a dramatic "death sound" and sits out.
- Second Elimination: Emma continues and winks at Sarah when no one is watching. Sarah also waits 5 seconds before being eliminated.
- The Accusation: Michael notices Emma's behavior and says "I found the shark! It's Emma!"
- Outcome: The moderator confirms Michael is correct. Emma is revealed as the shark, and the remaining participants win!
⚠️ Tips for Playing
- The 5-second delay is crucial - it prevents instant detection of the shark.
- The shark should vary their winking strategy - don't eliminate people too quickly or in an obvious pattern.
- Players should observe everyone's behavior, not just who they're making eye contact with.
- False accusations have real consequences - be confident before you accuse!
